A New Years sun shines through a crystal chandelier.Sanne sings. The heating struggles to beat the cold smoking in through a gap in one of the side windows. It will not close properly. I'd always intended to get it fixed but the car is more likely to be scrapped before I can afford the repair bill. And the Gards are out checking to see if the vehicles they stop are taxed, insured, and NCT'd. And straight after Christmas as well. No mercy as far as they are concerned. In fact as far as the government is concerned the recession, the hardships felt, are no excuse for not paying up. Poor finances have never been an excuse. Luckily for me I'm up to date as far as these obligations are concerned and I'm allowed to continue on my journey through ice, snow and the occasional fallen debris. So where am I going? No where really. Just needed to get out despite the traffic warnings. Just needed to rise above all the doom and gloom and believe in better times ahead.
Michael Jackson sings "Make that Change" and I want to. Not sure how to but i so want to. January's obituaries consolidate this thought. Another birthday a reminder of how quickly time dissolves, just like the snow wreaking havoc with my movements.
It's vital that I live in the present. Its now that matters. With or without the finances this has to be the year where good things happen.
Snow and ice will soon be replaced by spring, leaves, the blossoms of new life. And circumstances will improve of course because I refuse to believe otherwise.
